Purchasing Agent – Accounting 

As the purchasing agent, you will carry out all tasks allocated by the CFO which includes conducting research on potential vendors and suppliers, inspecting goods, and updating records. You must be able to negotiate pricing and transport costs. To be successful as a purchasing agent, you must be able to evaluate products and vendors. You will also become familiar with different biomedical equipment, parts, and manufacturers. Exceptional purchasing agents are successful negotiators with a keen eye for detail. 

Once you are established in your purchasing role you will be asked to assist with other accounting duties as needed. This position will report to the CFO and work closely with the finance team 

Role Responsibilities: 

 

Conducting product research and sourcing new suppliers and vendors. 

Sourcing materials, goods, products, and services and negotiating the best or most cost- effective contracts and deals. 

Evaluating parts and vendors based on urgency, price, reliability, quality, availability, and previous transaction history with timely and thorough data entry. 

Performing inventory inspections and reordering supplies and stock as necessary. 

Inspecting stock and reporting any faulty items or inconsistencies immediately. 

Updating and maintaining records of all orders, payments, and received stock within company software. 

Coordinating with operations on part/equipment status and following up on delays or orders that have been rescheduled. 

Establishing professional relationships with operations team as well as vendors and suppliers. Answering phones and transferring to the proper party or taking a message. 

Additional duties determined by the CFO may include AR & AP assistance, balance sheet reconciliations, tax system maintenance, special projects 

Desired Skills and Experience: 

Associate’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field preferred. 

Previous experience in a similar position. 

Proficiency in the Microsoft office.

Work Conditions: 

Generally good working conditions. This is an in-office position. Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 25lbs. Safe and reliable transportation is required. English and Spanish speaking office environment. 

Pay and Benefits: 

$41,600 annual salary. Salary to commensurate with experience
